The Micro-Quiz → Co-Reg → Redirect Flow (Co-registration cards + subscriber flow)
What this guide gives you
A ready-to-use flow for new subscribers. You ask three quick questions (the micro-quiz). You show two simple opt-in cards (the co-reg). Then you send each person to the right next step (the redirect). It’s short, friendly, and it turns one signup into two or three without extra friction.
Why this works (plain language)
-
Right person, right path. Owners want different emails than residents. The micro-quiz puts people on the path that fits.
-
More value per signup. The co-reg cards let a reader join a second publication in one tap. No extra forms.
-
Clean tracking. Global Control (GC) records who joined from which card and which publication. You can see what actually drives growth.
The 3-part flow at a glance
-
Micro-quiz (1-3 questions, 20–30 seconds). Tag Owner or Resident, plus one interest tag.
-
Co-reg (1-3). Show 1-3 related publications. Tap = instant opt-in.
-
Redirect. Send Owners and Residents to different “next step” pages.
Part 1 — Micro-quiz (copy you can paste)
Goal: learn if they are a business owner and what they care about. Keep it short.
-
Q1: “Are you a business owner?” [ Yes / No ]
-
Q2 (if Yes): “What do you sell or offer?” [ Services / Retail / Food & Drink / Other ]
-
Q2 (if No): “What do you want more of?” [ Food deals / Local pets / Weekend events / Home tips ]
-
Q3: “Pick one topic you like getting emails about.” (match your publications)
Tagging: add owner or resident plus one interest tag (e.g., food, pets, events).
Part 2 — Co-reg (two opt-in cards)
Right after the quiz, show two cards. Use plain, local copy. Each card joins the reader to another publication with one click.
Card examples (edit for your city):
-
“River Eats” — Short, real tips on where to eat this week. New finds, local deals. Tap to join.
-
“Paws of Riverton” — Pets that need a home + local care tips. Weekly and kind. Tap to join.
Good rule of thumb: pair Community with Food or Cause. Keep the cards friendly and simple. No hype.
Part 3 — Redirect (two clean landings)
After the cards, send people to a page that fits them. Two simple paths are enough to start.
-
Owner path: a short page that says “Welcome, owner.” Offer a tiny tripwire or a free owner resource. Invite them to your owner email track or group. Optional: start a deeper survey and redirect to Quizforma.
-
Resident path: a thank-you page with a useful local freebie (guide, checklist) or an affiliate offer, plus one clear button: “See this week’s stories.”
How to set it up (checklist)
-
Write the micro-quiz. Three questions max. Add Owner/Resident tags and one interest tag.
-
Create two co-reg cards. Use short, plain lines. Pick the two publications you most want to grow.
-
Build two redirect pages. One for Owners, one for Residents. Each page has one job and one clear button.
-
In GC, map the paths. If Owner tag = send the owner track. If Resident tag = send the resident track. Add a soft welcome series for each.
-
Test it. Go through the flow as a new reader. Confirm tags and co-reg joins. Check that the emails fire.
Email copy (ready to paste)
Owner welcome #1 (subject): “Quick win for local owners”
Body (short): “Thanks for joining. Here’s a small win you can do today. Try it, then hit reply and tell me how it went. Tomorrow I’ll send you a checklist you can keep.”
Resident welcome #1 (subject): “Welcome! 3 things for this week”
Body (short): “Thanks for joining. Here are three simple things in Riverton this week. If you like food and pets, you can also join River Eats or Paws of Riverton with one tap.”
Example screens (describe or screenshot)
-
Screen A — Micro-quiz: clean layout, three questions, large buttons.
-
Screen B — Co-reg: two cards, one tap to join, short lines, local icon or photo.
-
Screen C — Redirect (Owner): welcome line, small tripwire, one button: “Start here.”
-
Screen D — Redirect (Resident): thank-you, local freebie, one button: “See this week’s stories.”
What to watch
-
Completion rate: most people should finish the quiz in under 30 seconds.
-
Card taps: aim for at least one in four to join a second publication.
-
First-week email clicks: see which subject lines bring people back.
Common fixes
-
Too few card taps? Tighten headlines. Make the benefit obvious. Use your city name.
-
Low quiz finishes? Remove a question, or make the answers buttons, not dropdowns.
-
Emails not firing? Check tags. If no Owner/Resident tag is applied, the sequences won’t start.
TL;DR setup
-
Three-question micro-quiz, add Owner/Resident tag + one interest tag.
-
Two co-reg cards with simple, local copy.
-
Two redirect pages, each with one job and one button.
-
GC sends the right welcome series. Test the full path.
